Background:
When describing my #17 song, Energy You Make The World Go Round, I wrote, "Imagine being given an assignment to write a two-minute song on the topic of 'Energy' that is catchy, poignant, and inspirational.  Seems like a tough gig, but composer Bob Moline was more than up to the task." Well, imagine being given an assignment to follow that with another two-minute song, also about the subject of energy, that is even more powerful and transcendent.  What resulted was "Universe of Energy," a positively charged, synthetic, rock anthem that happens to be one of the greatest Disney songs of all time.

It's hard to think of too many songs that are more "feel-good" than this one.  There's not the slightest ounce of negativity, somberness, or melodrama -- it's 100% fun and pure, for lack of a better word, energy.  I've written before how the Future World of the mid 80's was all about hope and inspiration, and this song fits right in with that theme.  In the real world, our planet may be experiencing an energy crisis, but in Future World, energy is a fun and magical "force beyond our eyes."

The electronic effects are amazing, especially for 1982, and the instrumentation is sublime.  And the singer here sounds like the same one from Energy You Make The World Go Round (in that post I speculated that he may be John Joyce).  He delivers the goods here as well and is the perfect voice for this memorable song.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go run around my living room while playing this masterpiece on full blast.
